Here are the most common questions from prospective clients.
How much do you charge?
My rate depends on the scope & structure of the contract. Sometimes I do a project quote if the scope is well-defined and limited, but sometimes I bill at an hourly rate for open-ended and long-term contracts. Therefore, how much I charge is very subjective, and I prefer to discuss that and your needs before giving you a price.
Do you charge for notarizing things?
I do not charge a fee to notarize documents. Some notaries charge you $10.00 per signature, but I do not.
Are you an attorney?
I am not an attorney and am not a notario publico. I know this can be confusing for our Spanish-speaking community, so I wish to stress this point. I cannot give you legal advice or represent you in court. If you need legal representation, I can connect you with licensed attorneys who will fit your needs.
Are you a doctor or nurse?
I am not a doctor or a nurse and cannot give you medical advice, either. However, I am skilled at reading medical records and helping you navigate our health care system. I sometimes attend doctor appointments with clients to help them ask questions about their diagnosis or treatment options, which is especially valuable for those who are susceptible to "white coat syndrome."
Do you get paid for referring me to certain lawyers or doctors?
I do not get kick-backs or bonuses for referring you to particular attorneys or doctors. I only recommend professionals I trust: people with the highest ethics who are going to advocate for you as fiercely as I do.
